RockTape is a form of kinesiology tape that aims to assist muscles and tissues in the healing process through providing support, decompression, edema management, stabilization, neuromuscular re-education and pain relief. It is utilized for a plethora of diagnoses and syndromes along a spectrum of age groups and activity levels.
Below are a few of the ways we utilize RockTape to help our patients reach their goals!

The Shoulder Spiral

The Shoulder Spiral is used commonly for overhead athletes (baseball players, tennis players, paddleball players, pickle ball players, etc.) or any individual with weakness or pain in the shoulder region. This method helps to facilitate shoulder external rotation, which can prevent overuse and underuse of the rotator cuff musculature.

The Posture X

The Posture X is a commonly used technique to facilitate proper posture where the tape pulls the shoulder blades back and down into proper position. The Posture X is perfect for those suffering from neck pain, upper back pain, shoulder pain, and various other posture related conditions. The Posture X assists proper scapular positioning so that you can develop the appropriate muscle strength and control creating a solution to your problem instead of providing a temporary quick fix.  Posture X is great for everyone from the average desk worker to a high level Crossfit athlete!

The Low-Back H

The Low-Back H is designed for pain relief of acute and chronic injuries. The Low-Back H aims to facilitate the healing process during movement and at rest. The Shoulder Spiral and Posture X utilize mechanical support, whereas the Low-Back H primarily aims to bring awareness to the area to promote movement and to increase blood flow/healing agents to the area.

At InstaCare, all our therapists are certified in RockTape. Through our one-on-one model, we utilize RockTape in all manners as stated above to help get you back to doing what you love!
